The Twilight Strand is the first area of Act 1 and is connected to Lioneye's Watch. It is the first area in the game. It has a 1 minute Grace Period. Environment
NPCs
- Dying Exile: Hungry Corpse will attack and interrupt them, killing them if the character has an equipped weapon. Afterwards, they can no longer be interacted with. They will reappear in new instances of The Twilight Strand.
Unique enemies
- Hillock is the unique boss for The Twilight Strand. He can be encountered at the end of the area, close to the south entrance of Lioneye's Watch (Act 1). He can be rarely replaced with more difficult version of himself, colloquially known as Uber Hillock". Hillock does physical damage with melee attacks.
Monster packs
- Hungry Corpse is a zombie lying next to the Dying Exile. The Hungry Corpse deals physical damage with melee attacks and is guaranteed to drop a class-dependant skill gem.
- Drowned are zombies that appear in packs of 2 and 3, scattered around the area. Drowned deal physical damage with melee attacks. Some Drowned may initially appear laying immobile on the ground. They will rise and become hostile once the player exile comes into a certain range.
- Sand Spitters are insects that appear in packs of 2 and 3, scattered around the area. Sand Spitters deal physical damage with projectile attacks.
Layout
The Twilight Strand consists of two sections.
- Starting area. The starting area is a relatively closed-off part of the area, bordered by the shore, rock walls and rocks. The starting area is where th player exile initially washes up. The starting weapon, the Hungry Corpse, and the Dying Exile can be found in this area. If the tutorial is not disabled, a red wall will block player from exiting this area if they have not yet socketed their skill gem into their weapon.
- Main body section. The largest part of the area, Drowned, Sand Spitters, Crates, Barrels and wooden rampart environmental objects can be encountered here. Halfway across this section, at a point where the shore temporarily grows narrower, a Large Chest can be found containing a class-dependant support gem. At the end of this main body section, the boss Hillock can be encountered, next to the southern entrance to Lioneye's Watch
Environmental objects
- Crates - a type of loot container found scattered individually around The Twilight Strand.
- Barrels - a type of loot container found in larger and smaller variants scattered around the area. The larger barrels are found surrounded by several of the smaller barrels.
- Corpses - a type of loot container found in singular scattered around the area.
- Wooden rampart walls - an environmental object scattered around the area. They may block projectiles and movement.
