The Flooded Depths is an optional area in Act 1. This area has no waypoint and is connected to The Submerged Passage.

The area is relatively small and linear with short bridges leading across the water. The end of the area contains a large room containing The Dweller of the Deep, which is trapped in an Essence monolith with a random Tier 1 (Whispering) Essence. Killing it and returning to Tarkleigh grants one passive skill.

The boss is not trapped in an essence in Ruthless mode.
