Maligaro's Sanctum

Maligaro's Sanctum is an area in Act 7. This area does not have a waypoint and is connected to The Chamber of Sins Level 1 via fixed portals.

Function

Access to the area can be gained by placing in the map device located in The Chamber of Sins Level 1. It comprises multiple grotesque islands, connected by a sequence of plank bridges. At the end is a small arena, Maligaro's Workshop, for the encounter with Maligaro, the Artist.

After finishing the quests, the area is not able to access anymore. The whole Essence of the Artist and the area act as tutorial of how actual map works. Unlike other act areas (except The Lord's Labyrinth and vaal side area), dying within Maligaro's Sanctum will respawn (not applicable in hardcore) in The Chamber of Sins Level 1, where the map device is located, instead of area within the Maligaro's Sanctum such as the entrance to the boss room.

Lore

There is some minor lore breaking that league mechanic, such as Expedition NPC, Smuggler's Cache, etc, are able to spawn in this area. For the lore of this area, read article.
