The Northern Forest is an area in Act 2. This area has a waypoint and is connected to The Vaal Ruins, The Caverns, and The Dread Thicket.

The zone contains a Ritual encounter. One of the rewards is a random omen. The Ritual encounter can spawned once per character, regardless of their character level. Since it has low area level, the items cannot be deferred.

The area is always night time (due to the release of mysterious object by the player in The Vaal Ruins), regardless the player has killed the Act 2 boss to restore the light in other areas (such as Act 2 town) or not when backtracking.
