The Black Mórrigan is a goliath monster.

Rare Black Mórrígans can be encountered as a capturable Bestiary beast in tier 14+ areas that contain Einhar. The captured beast can be used in beastcrafting recipes.

Black Morrigan area found in the Viridian Wildwood

A Unique version of the Black Mórrígan can be found in the Viridian Wildwood, which drops a large amount of Primal Wisps on death. This version of the Black Mórrígan cannot be captured.

Itemized Black Mórrigan or in The Menagerie as captured beast in the permanent leagues, can still be unique rarity, however.

  • Modify an Item to Have Maximum Possible Number of Sockets (also needs Craicic Shield Crab)
  • Split an Item into Three Items, with Two Mods on Each Item (also needs Fenumal Plagued Arachnid)
  • Craft an Aspect Skill onto an Item - Level 30 Aspect of the Cat (also needs Farrul, First of the Plains)
  • Craft an Aspect Skill onto an Item - Level 30 Aspect of the Avian (also needs Saqawal, First of the Sky)
  • Craft an Aspect Skill onto an Item - Level 30 Aspect of the Spider (also needs Fenumus, First of the Night)
  • Craft an Aspect Skill onto an Item - Level 30 Aspect of the Crab (also needs Craiceann, First of the Deep)

Item acquisition

Preliminary data from available beasts on the trade site suggests it can spawn in T14 Maps (area level 81) and higher if Einhar is present.

Atlas passive skill The Hunt for Farrul increases the chance to spawn beasts from the Wilds family.

Version history

In Necropolis league, an exploit existed that involved using the "Modify an Item to Have Maximum Possible Number of Sockets" craft to obtain items with unintended numbers of sockets. This exploit was patched in 3.24.2 Hotfix 5, and items with invalid numbers of sockets were fixed in Hotfix 6.

• Any 2x3 weapon could have been crafted to have 6 sockets.
• This process could not be done on any item that couldn't have sockets. 3.24.2	(in hotfix 5) Fixed a bug which allowed the Bestiary craft using The Black Morrigan Recipe to not respect item socket rules. We're investigating the items that have been created through this method and are working on fixing them. Any gems socketed in these items are at risk for being destroyed when these items are fixed. (in hotfix 6) Fixed items that had an invalid number of sockets, such as being added from The Black Morrigan Bestiary craft. The invalid sockets on these items have now been removed. Any gems in the removed sockets are not recoverable.
