An item previewing the "destroy item" outcome from the Locus of Corruption in version 3.22.0.

Hinekora's Lock is a currency item. Using it on an item reveals the result of the next currency item used on it.

Mechanics

Using Hinekora's Lock on an item allows the player to preview the outcome of the next currency item applied to it by hovering the cursor over the item with the currency selected. Using a different currency will not cause that previewed outcome to occur, and remove the effects of Hinekora's Lock. Incubators being applied do not remove the previewed state.

Hinekora's Lock cannot be used on corrupted, unmodifiable, or mirrored items, or on gems. However, it can be used on an uncorrupted item to preview the outcome of a Vaal OrbVaal OrbStack Size: 20Corrupts an item, modifying it unpredictablyRight click this item then left click an item to corrupt it. Corrupted items cannot be modified again.. It cannot be used to preview the outcome of the Corruption Altar device in the Locus of Corruption as of version 3.23.0.

Hinekora's Lock does not work with the Crafting Bench, the Horticrafting Station, Beastcrafting, Recombinators (despite these being currencies), or non-crafting Betrayal Safehouse benches. It did work with the Divine Font for enchantments in the Labyrinth during version 3.22.0, however.

Items in the previewed state adds a small icon to the item box and adds a purple glow effect to the item's 2D art. The previewed state of the item persists when traded.
