Fenumal Plagued Arachnid or known as FPA is a type of beast, that can be used to "split" rare items into two. It always appears and captures as a red beast and as a rare monster. Using this beast on items is typically called "beast splitting" an item.

Beastcrafting Recipe: Split an Item Into Two, With Half the Mods on Each Item

Since version 3.14.0, beast splitting an item adds the "Split" tag to both items (similar to "Mirrored" tag), which prevents the items from being split or fractured again. Split items cannot be split again, and cannot have Imprints made of them or applied to them. Mechanics

• Splitting a rare item into two can turn one or both copies into a magic item depending on the remaining mod count. Both items would keep the number of sockets, colour of the sockets and sockets links.
  • Since version 3.14.0, splitted item can not be split again, but before that, using this beastcrafting recipe is a profitable way to sell the copy to the market by preparing a good base item by 6L, 30% quality and 6 white socket it, and then split the item. After the aforementioned patch, the profitability depends on the price of the Fenumal Plagued Arachnid beast and the price of such splitted basetype that have Split modifier as a "contamination" (Read below for the drawback caused by the Split modifier)
• Splitting an item will maintain the item level of the original item

This imprint can later be used to restore this specific item to that imprinted state. cannot be used on the Split item, including the "master" item, as the beastcrafting recipe will add Split modifier to both items.
  • Thus, despite the beastcrafting recipe works with Incursion mod, Delve mod (both fossil craft or drop only) Warband mod or legacy explicit mod (non-influenced only), etc, such mod cannot be restored on the "master" item via Imprint since version 3.14.0, effectively ending the method to duplicate the modifier. The beastcrafting was used to be use along with Imprint as there was 50% chance a desired mod was transferred to the copy, thus player can use Imprint on the "master" item to restore the mod(s), effectively duplicate the basetype and the explicit mod.
• For Blueprint (an item for opening a portal to a grand heist), except the explicit mods are distributed by random to the "master" item and the "copy", the pattern of the rooms of the grand heist is not affected. It only merely need to be revealed again by spending Rogue MarkersRogue's MarkerStack Size: 50000Creates a portal to the Rogue Harbour from a Town or Hideout
  Used as Currency for services in the Rogue HarbourRight click on this item while in a Town or Hideout to use it.. However, since version 3.14.0, blueprint can only split once instead of many times, the beastcrafting recipe now merely double the number of the good layout blueprints. Despite blueprint that have Split modifier can still be mirrored by using Mirror of KalandraMirror of KalandraStack Size: 10Creates a mirrored copy of an itemRight click this item then left click an equipable non-unique item to apply it. Mirrored copies cannot be modified., it is not profitable to use Mirror on blueprint.

Item acquisition

According to a datamined list, the minimum Map level required to capture a Fenumal Plagued Arachnid was map Level 70 (during Bestiary league).
