The Ascendant offers flexibility more than any other class by allowing the player to take passives based on other Ascendancy classes. These passives offer similar benefits representing the class's overall tree, but with mitigated effects. Only one Ascendancy class passive can be taken from each base class.
The Ascendant can either allocate two Ascendancy class passives or further invest onto one class's path to gain the ability to use that class' starting point on the passive skill tree as a second starting point.

Champion in Ruthless mode does not grant guaranted chance to taunt on hit, increased aura effect, or intimidate enemies that are on full life. Instead, it causes banners to have no reservation. It also grants a smaller damage taken debuff to taunted enemies and melee hits to always Fortify.

Now grants 20% chance to Fortify on Melee Hit (up from 10%), 30% increased Damage for you and nearby Allies while you have Fortify (up from 15%) and 5% reduced Damage taken from Taunted Enemies (up from 4%).

Gladiator in Ruthless mode does not grant chance to blind, more physical damage over time, or the ability to ignore enemy physical damage reduction after blocking. Instead, it grants chance to inflict Bleeding and a chance to blind bleeding enemies.

Life Leech effects are not removed when Unreserved Life is Filled Culling Strike 30% increased Area of Effect if you've Killed Recently Cannot take Reflected Physical Damage [1]
This skill grants passive culling strike, increased area of effect if you have killed in the past 4 seconds, and grants prevents physical damage from reflect. It also causes life leech effects to not get removed at full life (functioning identically to Slayer's Brutal Fervour node), but reduces the total amount of life recovered from each Leech.

The Ascendant's Path of the Marauder, Duelist, Ranger, Shadow, Witch and Templar skills now each grant 2 passive skill points in addition to allowing you to place passive points at their respective starting locations.
