Not to be confused with Damage taken as.
Damage taken refers to the amount of damage taken after all mitigations have taken place.[1] It is a synonym of 'damage dealt', but from a defending standpoint.
Mechanics
Modifiers to 'damage taken' (except damage taken as) apply to the value calculated after mitigation by resistances and armour.[2][3] See also receiving damage.
