The prophecy system was removed from the game in version 3.17.0. Silver Coins no longer exist in Path of Exile. This article describes Silver Coins as they existed prior to their removal.

A Silver Coin was a currency item that could be exchanged for prophecies with Navali.

Obtaining

Silver Coins were currency items that could be dropped by slain monsters, chests, and destructible containers.

They also dropped from Arcanist's Strongboxes and strongboxes with the of Prophecyof Prophecy
Suffix
Contains (2-4) additional Silver Coins suffix.

Spending

In contrast to most other currency items at the time, Silver Coins had no inherent function for item crafting or other utility. However, Navali could exchange them for prophecies or seal a prophecy to create an item from it, which then could be traded with other players.

Version history

Version	Changes
3.17.0	Removed the Prophecy mechanic from the game, and moved many of its rewards to other content. Silver Coins can no longer drop. Existing Silver Coins and itemised Prophecies will be deleted from your inventory and stash the next time you log in after the launch of 3.17.0.
2.4.0c	The drop rate of Silver Coins has been increased.
2.4.0	Silver Coins now drop less often than before, as Prophecy is not the main league mechanic now.
