Abyss jewel

Abyss jewels are a class of items that function similar to regular jewels. They can be obtained from Abyssal Troves and as an Abyss reward item from various other league mechanics.

Mechanics

Abyss Jewels are similar to regular jewels, but with a few differences. In addition to being able to be socketed on the passive skill tree, Abyss Jewels can also be socketed into Abyssal Sockets on equipment and Stygian ViseStygian ViseHas 1 Abyssal Sockets. Abyss Jewels also have an entirely different set of modifiers in comparison to regular jewels; these modifiers have multiple tiers, with stronger modifiers requiring a higher item level.

Typically, like regular jewels, rare Abyss Jewels can hold a maximum of 2 prefixes and 2 suffixes, for a total of 4 affixes. However, it is possible to obtain rare corrupted Abyss Jewels with a total of 5 or 6 modifiers by allocating the Corrupted Gaze Atlas notable.

3.7.0	The values on Life, Mana and Energy Shield modifiers on Abyssal Jewels have been reduced, and the top tiers made rarer relative to lower tiers. The top roll for these modifiers is now 40 (from 50). Divining existing jewels will update them to these new values, so don't do that unless you're hoping to create one of those 'viral videos' that are all the rage these days. Added damage of all types on Abyssal Jewels has also been lowered, by about 30% at the top end, scaling down to lower tiers. Top tiers of these have also become rarer. This is true for all top-tier added damage modifiers on Abyssal Jewels, including caster and summoner ones.
