This article is about the variant of Arena Map from the most recent map series in which it appeared. For other variants, see § Map variants.

Arena Map does not exist in the current map series (Necropolis) for the Atlas of Worlds. In permanent leagues, an existing Arena Map can be used in the Map DeviceMap DeviceHideout ItemCreates an object in your hideout2 Variations, but it cannot be influenced by the Eldritch Horrors or witnessed by The Maven. There is no bonus objective for this map. It can be converted to a map from the current series by selling it to a vendor. Module Error: No results found for item using search term "page = Arena Map (Necropolis)" Arena Map is a map area.

Layout

Similar to the act zone the map is based upon, the layout features multiple circular arenas connected by subterranean passageways. The bosses wait in one of the arenas, of which the entrance will seal behind the player.

Encounters

Boss

The bosses are based on the mini-bosses in The Grand Arena of Act 4: Dimachaeri Cassius, Mevion and Rudiarius Felix

This map has 3 bosses with 3 phases. When one of them reaches a health threshold (or dies) other bosses in range change their behaviour as if they reached the next threshold.

Avatar of the Huntress, based on Rudiarius Felix.

Avatar of the Skies, based on Mevion.

Avatar of the Forge, based on Dimachaeri Cassius.

Version history

Version Changes
3.16.0
  • This map has been removed from the Atlas.
  • This map can no longer drop.
  • You can still use your existing maps in the Map Device.
  • You can trade your existing maps to vendors. You will receive other maps that are still in the Atlas.
3.12.0
  • Map tiers and locations have been shuffled (though the 'pin' locations for maps has not changed). Most maps are now initially found at a different tier. Unique maps have not moved or changed tiers.
3.11.0
  • Map tiers and locations have been shuffled (though the 'pin' locations for maps has not changed). Most maps are now initially found at a different tier. Unique maps have not moved or changed tiers.
3.10.0
  • (Not patch note) The atlas has not shuffled , but the atlas has a new series of maps anyway.
3.9.0
  • The Atlas of Worlds has been reworked. You now start at the centre and will work your way outwards as you explore a new storyline.
  • Added a new mechanic - Watchstones: These can only be obtained by defeating one of the new Atlas bosses. They can be used to raise the tier of all maps in a particular region of the Atlas, causing all maps of those base types to drop at the new higher tier.
3.5.0
  • The Atlas of Worlds has been shuffled. Most maps have changed tier and location within the Atlas.
  • Many map bosses have also shifted around. Some have been retired and replaced!
  • (Not in patch notes) The Atlas will now be shuffled every league.
3.1.0
  • The entire Atlas has been reworked. Many map names have changed, as have their balance, tier and position on the Atlas. Many maps have also had their boss fights swapped or completely reworked.
  • The rules used to generate monsters in endgame maps have been significantly reworked and rebalanced around the rate at which we expect players to reliably clear out the map. In general, narrow, linear maps will contain fewer total monsters than maps with complex layouts. We will be closely monitoring and adjusting the balance of this change and expect to make further changes and improvements over time.
2.0.0
  • Introduced to the game.
