Vial

Vials are currency items used to upgrade certain unique items to their more powerful versions. They are used by placing one in the Altar of Sacrifice in Apex of Ascension (a level 3 room that upgraded from Sacrificial Chamber and Hall of Offerings) along with the required unique item.

Vials can only be obtained from The Vaal Omnitect; it is possible to drop multiple vials simultaneously.

Rooms that increase the chance of drop

Constructing certain rooms in the temple causes the Omnitect to have a higher chance to drop vials related to that room. Datamined values of the mods provided by each room are as follows:

Mechanics

The Altar of Sacrifice will always create the most current version of upgraded incursion uniques, even if the sacrificed unique item was a legacy version.

Quality, enchantments, and modifier rolls are not retained on upgrade.
