Wraeclast was the cradle of an unnamed primeval civilization that existed before the Vaal. Details about its history are uncovered by delving the Azurite Mine.

Aul, the Crystal King was once a slave who led an uprising and usurped the crown. He became the last king of their civilization before it was destroyed by a cataclysm.

With her home in ruins, the Clayshaper retreated into the mountains where she encountered the Maraketh. Together they formed an alliance and defeated the Lightless.
