Infernal Blow is a meleeattack skill that converts 60% of Physical Damage to Fire Damage and applies a debuff to enemies. The debuff causes enemies to explode on death, dealing secondary damage. Additionally, if the debuff has charges, it deals attackarea damage when an enemy gains 6 stacks, when the debuff expires, or when the enemy dies. This skill requires a sword, axe, mace, staff or unarmed.
Damage conversion: Like all converted damage, the fire portion of Infernal Blow's damage will be modified by both fire damage increases and physical damage increases.
Uncharged debuff: At 0 charges, the debuff only causes enemies to explode on death, scaling with the affected enemy's maximum life.
The explosion deals fireareasecondary damage and cannot be reflected. It does not use your weapon, nor does it scale with modifiers to attack or melee damage. It can be scaled by generic modifiers and Elemental Damage with Attack Skills. Like other explosions, it ignores life bonuses from partying and Wellspring of Creation.[1]
Charged debuff: With 1 or more charge, the debuff will also deal attack area damage on expiration, enemy death, or reaching 6 charges.

The charged debuff deals the exact same damage types as the melee hit, plus area damage.[2] It is considered a new hit and is not based on the hits that applied its charges.[3]
For the purposes of Ruthless Blows and exerting, the attack responsible for the debuff's hit depends on how that hit was caused. If the debuff reached 6 charges, then it is considered a hit from the attack that applied the 6th. If the debuff expired for any other reason (such as the monster dying), it's a hit from the attack that applied the 1st stack instead.[4]
Multiple skill gems: If an enemy with a charged debuff from one gem is hit by infernal blow from another gem, the debuff is removed without dealing damage. This means that you can't use one set of links to apply the first 5 debuffs and a different one to cause 6-charge debuff damage. Previously placed a debuff for 0.5 seconds on enemies hit by the skill. If the target died while the debuff was active, it exploded, dealing fire damage equal to 10% of its maximum life to other nearby enemies.
Now places a debuff for 0.8 seconds. Repeated hits refresh the duration of the debuff and add another stack. If the target dies while debuffed, it explodes, dealing 6% of the monster's base maximum life to nearby enemies, plus 66% of base attack damage per debuff. At 6 stacks of the debuff, the target explodes for 66% of base attack damage per debuff and the debuffs are consumed. Monsters slain by this explosion will still explode, dealing damage based on its life.
