Vaal Double Strike is a Vaal melee skill that performs two fast attacks and summons two doubles of the character to attack monsters for a duration.

Skill function and interactions

Using this skill spawns two clones of your character that use Double Strike to attack. The clones gain all the effects on the character, such as auras and flasks, and are immune to all forms of damage.

The clones create a visual snapshot of the character upon usage of the skill, which includes visual effects like the charges or monster auras stolen by or . These effects will not have any effect on the clones however.

The clones will teleport to your location if you move too far away from them.

3.7.0	Now deals base damage equal to, and has an added damage effectiveness of, 28% at gem level 1 (from 33%), up to 33% at gem level 20 (from 40%). Now has 25% chance to cause bleeding.
3.3.0	Previously generated a double of your character which would attack enemies for a duration of 3.6 seconds at gem level 1, up to 5.5 seconds at gem level 20. Previously required 16 souls to use, with the capacity to store 3 uses. Now has an added damage effectiveness and base damage of 33% at gem level 1 (down from 70%), up to 40% at gem level 20 (down from 85%). Now creates two doubles of your character for a duration of 8 seconds at all levels. Now adds melee range as it levels up, up to +3 at gem level 20. Now deals 3-5 additional physical damage against bleeding enemies at gem level 1, up to 113-169 additional physical damage against bleeding enemies at gem level 20. 1.1.0d	Vaal Skill soul counts were initially balanced for Merciless difficulty, where there are more monsters. We want them to be easier to use in Normal and Cruel difficulty. We have halved the number of souls required for each skill. In Cruel difficulty, skills require 50% more souls to uses. In Merciless difficulty, they require 100% more (which is the same as before the patch).
