The Guardian is an Ascendancy class for Templars.

Overview

Guardians are a powerful option for tank/support Templars dedicated to partying, possessing passives with an emphasis on enhancing and protecting a party. Guardians can specialize in Auras, granting up to 4 additional unique and powerful defensive auras to their party. They also have passives that protect and enhance allies in a number of other ways. Even as a solo character, Guardians themselves can benefit from its selection of defensive passives, or use their auras and buffs to command an army of minions.

Radiant Faith is a notable Ascendancy passive skill for the Guardian that grants the Radiant Faith buff, which grants increased energy shield and additional armour relative to the amount of mana you've reserved to you and nearby allies.

Mechanics

Because Radiant Faith is classified as an aura buff and not an aura skill / aura skill gem, mods such as #% increased effect of Non-Curse Auras from your Skills does not increase the amount of Armour and Energy Shield granted from this ascendancy passive skill. However, those receiving the buff can increase the amounts received by their own Increased Armour and Increased Energy Shield stats.

Note, that while the wording is similar to the Hierophant's Sanctuary of Thought, the mechanics are quite different. Sanctuary of Thought functions as a conversion so Increased Maximum Mana and Increased Maximum Energy Shield mods stack with each other additively. Radiant Faith grants the percentage of your actual mana as base energy shield, so Increased Maximum Mana and Increased Maximum Energy Shield effectively stack multiplicatively with each other, which allows for extreme stacking of energy shield with proper gear.

Unwavering Faith is a Notable Ascendancy passive skill for the Guardian that adds the effect of increased recovery to each of your active non-curse auras.

Mechanics

The effects of Unwavering Faith behave like an aura and are added onto the effects of whatever non-curse auras the player has cast. Thus, the effects that are granted can be further enhanced by the Guardian's own Aura Effect stat, with the resulting effect always being rounded down to the nearest integer.
