Pinnacle boss

Pinnacle bosses, also known as Pinnacle Atlas Bosses, refer to specific bosses that have their own boss zones (and usually have Atlas passive skills or Atlas keystones naming them directly).

Mechanics

Many pinnacle bosses have an "Uber" or "unleashed" variant that can be accessed with Uber fragments obtained from tier 17 maps. These variants have area level 85, introduce new mechanics, and the encounters are significantly harder in exchange for new and improved rewards.

Some Eldritch implicit modifiers have effects that only activate while "in the presence of a Pinnacle Boss".

Some pinnacle boss encounters that are isolated to an arena do not cause experience loss on death, but do not grant experience on killing them either.

Most pinnacle bosses also prevent the player from pausing the game during the fight through the unremovable Temporal Interference debuff.

Version history

Version	Changes
3.26.0	Players no longer lose experience from dying in pinnacle boss encounters. Players also no longer gain experience from killing monsters in these areas. You can now pause the game by opening the menu or any fullscreen interface like the Passive Skill Tree. You will also be paused if any lag is detected, or if you disconnect. Some content, mainly Pinnacle Boss fights, will apply the "Temporal Interference" debuff to you, which prevents the game from being paused.
3.25.0	Pinnacle Bosses, Shaper Guardians and Elder Guardians can now have up to 50% Action Speed reduction (previously 30%), which buffs the Effect of Freeze on these Bosses.
