Skills
Similar to other major bosses, the Infinite Hunger has voiceline callouts that precede major skills, which aid the player's reactions. These are:
- "Slaughter!"/"Trample!"/"Cull!" (Drill Charge): A slow charge, similar to Shield ChargeShield ChargeAttack, AoE, Movement, Travel, Physical, Melee
Level: (1-20)
Cost: (6-10) Mana
Attack Time: 0.50 sec
Critical Strike Chance: 5.00%
AoE Radius: 8 / 16Requires Level 4Charges at a targeted location or enemy, pushing away enemies in your path and repeatedly dealing off-hand damage in a small area in front of you. You deal damage in a larger area when you reach the target. The further you travel, the more damage you deal, and the greater your chance of stunning enemies.(9-252) to (13-378) Base Off Hand Physical Damage
(3-8) to (5-12) Added Physical Damage per 15 Armour or Evasion Rating on Shield
75% increased Stun Threshold reduction on enemies at Maximum charge distance
100% more Damage with Hits at Maximum Charge Distance
(90-109)% increased Movement Speed
Additional Effects From 1-20% Quality:
(1-20)% increased Movement SpeedPlace into an item socket of the right colour to gain this skill. Right click to remove from a socket.. Deals increased damage based on distance traveled, but very easy to avoid by getting out of the way. - "Feast!": When said without "Hunger!" first, performs a cleaving melee attack. Low damage.
- "Melt!": Fires a mortar spray of low damage Phys/Chaos projectiles that always inflict poison. Avoid with circle strafing.
- "Digestion!": Empowered "Melt", fires additional projectiles that leave behind a pool of Vomitous Ooze that does Physical/Chaos DOT, and reduces movement speed by 40%. Used very rarely.
- "Hunger!" (Burrow): Becomes invulnerable, moving around arena leaving Physical/Chaos DOT trail behind. Remains in this phase for a duration, or jumps out (with callout "Feast!") and slams player if nearby. Rapidly deals moderate damage to players standing on him. Ending emerging slam deals moderate-high damage. Fairly easy to avoid by running away, but annoyingly delays the fight.
- "Obliterate!"/"Mash!" (Sumo Slam): Glows briefly before doing a large AOE slam similar to Ice CrashIce CrashAttack, AoE, Cold, Slam, Melee
Level: (1-20)
Cost: (10-14) Mana
Attack Speed: 70% of base
Attack Damage: (332-611)% of base
Effectiveness of Added Damage: (332-611)%
AoE Radius: 26Requires Level 28Slam the ground, damaging enemies in an area around the impact in three stages of increasing size. Enemies take slightly less damage on the second and third stage, and can only be hit by one stage. Works with Swords, Maces, Sceptres, Axes, Staves and Unarmed.100% of Physical Damage Converted to Cold Damage
Second Stage deals 15% less Damage
Third Stage deals 30% less Damage
Base radius is 1.1 metres
Base secondary radius is 2.1 metres
Base tertiary radius is 3.1 metres
Additional Effects From 1-20% Quality:
Gain (0.75-15)% of Physical Damage as Extra Cold DamagePlace into an item socket of the right colour to gain this skill. Right click to remove from a socket., 35% of Physical converted to Chaos. Significant damage, get away during glowing phase. - "Hunger without end...": Signature move - The arena periodically fills up completely with bile, inflicting stacks of the Drowning debuff which slows the player by 8% movement speed per stack, and at 10 stacks teleports them to the underground area. As the entire arena eventually fills and is thus unavoidable, it is most time-efficient to intentionally jump into the pool to be teleported faster, or burst the boss down before the arena fills.
Strategy
- When the Infinite Hunger drags you under (teleporting you to a very large area that gradually stacks (About 1 per 1.5 secs) an unlimited amount of Corrosive Hunger debuffs while inside - each stack reducing physical damage reduction and chance to evade attacks by 1%), follow the direction of the flowing goo to head to the portal back to the arena, staying on dry land where possible. Use movement speed buffs like quicksilver flasks - the sooner the player gets out of this move, the better.
- Standing on the islands will prevent you from taking damage; stepping into the ooze will inflict the Digestive Acid debuff which deals Physical and Chaos DOT, and gradually reduces movement speed more and more.
- Stacks of Corrosive Hunger are reset upon being teleported to the underground area a second time, giving the player a second chance to get through it faster with fewer stacks.
- Enemies that spawn in the underground area provide an opportunity to reset on-kill effects, regain flask charges, and leech life/mana. It is advised to kill them while traversing the area, as their melee attacks do decent damage and they have relatively little life.
Drops
Drop rates are extrapolated from data on The Black Star with an average number of modifiers. Actual drop rates may vary.
Drop rates are scaled by area item quantity. The lower values represent base drop rates; higher values represent rare+corrupted invitations.
