Slayer
No judge. No jury. Just the executioner.
This page is about the Ascendancy class. For the Ascendant passive, see Slayer (Ascendant passive).

The Slayer is an Ascendancy class for Duelists.

Overview

The Slayer class focuses on raw power and maintaining sustainability as they fight. They possess bonuses to life leech and stun and passives such as Bane of Legends gives them an edge against tougher monsters. Due to the minor nodes all having increased attack speed and two-handed damage bonuses, this class is well suited for attack skills for two-handed weapons and bows.

Two Handed Damage, Life Leech

Brutal Fervour
Ascendancy Notable Passive Skill
Life Leech effects are not removed when Unreserved Life is Filled
10% reduced Damage taken while Leeching
100% increased Maximum Recovery per Life Leech [1]

Brutal Fervour is a notable Ascendancy passive skill for the Slayer that grants increased maximum recovery from each life leech instance and damage reduction while leeching life. It also modifies life leech effects to not get removed when the player reaches full life.

This effect does not work with Ghost Reaver, as leech effects are removed at full energy shield.[1] In the case of instant life leech effects, such as Bloodseeker or legacy versions of Atziri's Acuity, the leech will end immediately regardless of whether you are at full life or not, as Brutal Fervour does not preserve or store such effects.

For Slayer passive skill, see Overwhelm (Ascendancy passive).

Overwhelm is a keyword that applies to hits that deal physical damage, causing the hit to ignore a set value of the target's physical damage reduction.[1]

Mechanics

Overwhelm works similarly to resistance penetration, subtracting the specified amount from the target's effective physical damage reduction against the hit. However, Overwhelm cannot reduce physical damage reduction into the negatives.[2]
