Dominating Blow is a meleeattack that applies a debuff. If an non-unique enemy dies with the debuff, it consumes their corpse to summon a friendly Sentinel of Dominanceminion. Sentinels copy the modifiers of the monster it was raised from.

Sentinel types: Magic and Rare enemies can be made into a Sentinel using this skill, but unique monsters cannot. Magic and Rare Sentinels will keep all special attributes of the enemy it was raised from, including auras which will be applied to the player and all allies. Auras come from monster modifiers.
Sentinel modifiers: The skill only copies the Prefix and Suffix modifiers from the monster. These are the regular mods that it gets for being Magic/Rare, just as with Prefixes and Suffixes on items. Sentinels are able to use the abilities granted by Archnemesis modifiers, such as Ice Prison, Temporal Bubble, Mana Siphoner, or Innocence-touched. The former system of Nemesis and Bloodline modifiers are extra modifiers that are not prefixes or suffixes, and thus are not copied. All summoned Sentinels of Dominance have a hidden modifier causing them to take 20% of Damage from Blocked Hits.[1]

The summoned Sentinels of Dominance's stats scale heavily with the gem level of Dominating Blow. For example, at gem level 20 they have a base physical damage of 768 to 1,152 with a total life of 5,912 per Sentinel, while at gem level 15 their base physical damage is 462 to 693 with a total life of 3,448 per Sentinel.

It has been updated from “25% Chance to Summon a Normal Sentinel of Dominance when you Hit a Unique Monster” to “25% Chance to Summon a Normal Sentinel of Dominance on Hitting a Unique Monster”. This is not a functional change.
Dominating Blow's mana cost has been reduced substantially. The attack now deals 125% of base damage at level 1, increasing to 155.4% at level 20. Minions created by it now deal 35% less damage at all levels.
Dominating Blow: Minions deal 20% less damage at level 1, with the penalty reduced at each gem level. Base duration set to 20 seconds at all levels. Mana cost reduced at all levels. It now grants 0.5% increased damage per 1% quality instead of affecting duration.
