Ancestor League is the current temporary challenge league. It launched on August 18, 2023 as part of Path of Exile: Trial of the Ancestors in version 3.22.0.^[1]

League mechanic

Players use tradeable Silver CoinsSilver CoinStack Size: 30Creates a portal to the Halls of the Dead from a Town or Hideout
Used as Currency in the Halls of the Dead to participate in the Trial of the AncestorsRight click on this item while in a Town or Hideout to use it. This item is not consumed on use.
Shift click to unstack. to gain passage to the Karui Afterlife and participate in a tournament called the Trial of the Ancestors alongside the fallen warriors and chieftains of each Karui tribe with the player's own team of Karui warriors. Players will defeat opponents and destroy the opposing team's totems to win the match.

Competing in tournaments will accumulate favour with each tribe that can be spent on recruiting warriors, field items, and equipment to power up the team. Each tribe has their own strengths and weaknesses.

Each successful match grants a variety of rewards, from regular items and currency to exclusive new rewards that cannot be found elsewhere. For example, tattoos can be applied on the passive skill tree to change the stats of a certain type of passive skill. Each of the ten Karui tribes also can offer an exclusive unique item that embodies the themes of their tribe.
