General's Cry is a warcry skill that taunts nearby enemies, and summons a number of mirage warriors from nearby corpses based on the power of nearby enemies and corpses. Mirage warriors deliver an exerted attack once with the linked attack skill, then disappear.

The gem has two parts, General's Cry the active skill and the closely associated General's Cry Support, which applies the %less damage to linked attacks.

Skill functions and interactions

Unlike other warcries, General's Cry counts the total Power of Enemies and Corpses in range. Corpses of magic and above monsters provide the same increased power that they would if they were alive.

Exertion:

  • The attacks from the Mirage Warriors count as Exerted. This means that bonuses which directly affect Exerted attacks will apply to their attacks, such as Berserker's War Bringer.
  • Exerts granted to the player via other warcries do not apply to the Mirage Warriors.
  • Increasing the number of maximum exerts has ZERO effect on General's Cry, rendering the Measured Fury notable worthless.

Mirage Warriors:

  • Mirage Warriors do not grant on hit effects such as Life Gain on Hit, Leech, Rage Support, Corrupting Fever etc...
  • Mirage Warriors also do not grant on kill effects from weapons or spells such as the Frenzy charge on kill modifier on Daresso's Passion or from Blood Rage, however they do cause things such as Herald of Ash / Herald of Ice and The Great Old One's Tentacles on kill effects to activate.
  • Mirage Warriors do apply global on hit effects and ailments such as (Ex: Dreadarc) Curses, Impale, Bleed, Poison, Ignite, Shock, Chill and Freeze. They do not apply trigger on hit effects such as Trigger Level 8 Assassin's Mark when you Hit a Rare or Unique Enemy, because the attack they use is already considered triggered, and triggered skills cannot trigger other triggered skills.
  • Mirage Warriors do not appear to gain movement speed with gem level or increased movement speed on the player themself (the alternate gem quality appears to be the only way to increase their movement speed).
  • Mirage warriors are unable to be damaged, and are ignored by enemies. They are also not considered minions/allies and do not benefit from effects that apply to minions/allies unless those effects also apply to the player themself.
  • Warriors are considered separate entities from the player, but use the player's attacks, similar to totems. This also means that elemental or physical reflect will not harm the player when attacking through mirage warriors.

Mirage Warrior Behavior:

  • Mirage Warriors from General's Cry will follow the mouse where clicked if they do not have a target. When they have a target, they will move directly to the target to attack, except in the case of Consecrated PathConsecrated PathFire, Attack, AoE, Movement, Duration, Slam, Melee

    , mirage warriors will channel to max stacks (assuming they have enough attack speed to reach max stacks before disappearing), then release upon reaching max stacks immediately, resulting in blade flurry's typical end-of-channel release behavior.

Mirage Spawning:

  • Mirage Warriors do not spawn all at once when the player uses General's Cry. Instead, spawns are staggered - the first mirage spawns ~300ms after the cast and subsequent mirages spawn one by one with an interval of ~200ms. It is not currently possible to reduce this interval. Active Mirages will finish their attack and despawn when using General's Cry again.
  • Spawning Mirage Warriors does not consume the corpse the warrior was spawned from, reducing the need to generate corpses while fighting in a static arena.

Appearance:

Mirage Warriors take the form of a Marauder (regardless of player class) with a red character effect. They will also have Skin TransferSkin TransferConsumableDestroys one item to apply its appearance to another.Click this item, then left click the item you wish to take the appearance from, then left click the item you wish to apply it to.
