A Sextant is a currency item that can be used on a Voidstone to add a special modifier to all maps.
Mechanics
Sextants are used to add a random enchantment mod to a Voidstone on the Atlas of Worlds. This effect will be applied to all maps. Like most items, Voidstones can only have at most one enchantment on them at a time: Using a Sextant on a Voidstone that is already enchanted will reroll the existing mod, even if the new Sextant is of a lower rarity than the old mod's was.
Each Sextant mod lasts a total of three uses of maps activated within the region, after which it disappears. Sextant mods from Elevated Sextants have fifteen uses.
As identical Sextant effects do not stack, only one Voidstone in that region with the duplicate mod will have its uses deducted. Since up to four Voidstones may be socketed into a Voidstone Altar at a time.
Sextants come in two variants of increasing rarity. While the first one drops randomly from monsters like other currency items, the Elevated Sextant only drops from The Maven herself (not her Invitations).
Storing Sextant Modifiers
It's possible to store a Sextant Modifier in an itemised form using a Surveyor's CompassSurveyor's CompassStack Size: 10Stores a Sextant Modifier in an itemRight click on this item then left click on a Voidstone to itemise an applied Sextant Modifier.:
- When applied to a Voidstone that has a Sextant modifier on it, the modifier will be removed from the Voidstone and you will have Charged CompassCharged CompassRight click on this item then left click on a Voidstone to apply the itemised Sextant Modifier to the Voidstone. with the removed sextant modifiers.
This will allow valuable Sextants to be used at a time of your choosing or you can choose to trade this Sextant modifier to another player.
