The Fetid Pool is an optional area in Act 1. This area does not have a waypoint and is connected to The Mud Flats.
The area is roughly circular with a large muddy pool in the center. The exit to The Mud Flats is at the bottom of the area and Kadavrus is near the top.
The Fetid Pool may be a reference to the Den of Evil in Diablo 2. Both areas are near the start of the game, contain necromancers, and have an optional quest to fully clear the area.
