A Dirty Job is a side quest in act 1. Despite it is an optional quest, it is the only quest left if the player has finished the "main" quest 
Mercy Mission (which is actually optional) and not yet entered The Mud Flats and acquire the new main quest 
Breaking Some Eggs over there. This side quest is actually a plot device to introduce The Mud Flats and area beyond.
Since the boss of The Fetid Pool, Kadavrus the Defiler, is a necromancer. It is probably hard for ungeared player to finish this quest. Players can choose to ignore this quest entirely, or complete it later.
Walkthrough
Talk to Tarkleigh to start the quest after completing Mercy Mission or entering the Fetid Pool
Tarkleigh: Got a job for you, if you’re willing. There’s a pool near the Mud Flats needs investigating. You’ll smell it before you see it. Stinks like a carcass in high summer. But that’s not the worst of it.
Dead birds walking. Animals don’t rise up again the same as people do here. So if they aren’t raising themselves, what’s doing it for them? The answer’s in that Fetid Pool.
Clear the place out and kill whatever’s raising those rhoas. We’ve got enough living dead to contend with already.
Clear the Fetid Pool
Clear the Fetid Pool of all undead and any other monsters.
Travel to the Fetid Pool located near the Mud Flats and begin clearing out all of the undead. The chat command '/remaining' can tell you how many monsters remain.
Kill the Necromancer and his minions
Kill the Necromancer and all his minions in the Fetid Pool.
You have discovered the source of the undead in the Fetid Pool, Kadavrus the Defiler. Kill him to prevent more undead from being resurrected.
Wipe out the remaining monsters
Wipe out the remaining monsters in the Fetid Pool.
Resume clearing out the rest of the undead in the Fetid Pool. Notifications will be displayed in chat when there are 5 or fewer monsters remaining.
Talk to Tarkleigh for your reward
You have cleared the Fetid Pool of the necromancer and his undead minions. Talk to Tarkleigh for a reward
Return to Lioneye's Watch and talk to Tarkleigh
Quest Complete
Quest Complete - You have cleared the Fetid Pool of the necromancer and his undead minions. Tarkleigh has rewarded you with a Skill Book. Use it to gain two Passive Respec Points
Tarkleigh: A necromancer? Just the one, was it? Guess the bastard got a bit lonely, decided to make himself some pets.
