For chest-like objects that also spawn packs of monsters, see strongbox.
Chests are interactable objects found throughout various areas that can be opened, broken, or activated to drop random or specific items.
Chests generally drop items at the same level as the area level, and are affected by modifiers to area item quantity.[1] They are not affected by player quantity.[2]

Generic environment containers are generated as part of specific tilesets. They may generate in random and in multiples. They generally have more generic and less desirable rewards.
