A Gemcutter's Prism (often abbreviated GCP) is a currency item that can be used to improve the quality of a gem. Each Gemcutter's Prism will always raise the quality by 1%.

Vendor recipes

For more information, see Vendor recipe system.

A Gemcutter's Prism may be vendored with a level 20 support gem to produce a level 1 version of that support gem with 20% quality. Leveling gems in the alternative weapon set is generally considered a cost-efficient method of obtaining 20% quality support gems if the player does not have the means to obtain a large number of Gemcutter's Prisms.

Gemcutter's Prisms may be acquired from vendors by selling a single 20% quality gem, or multiple gems with a total quality of 40% or more.
