Item acquisition

Headhunter can drop anywhere. It can be chanced. Headhunter belongs to a special group of unique items called league-specific items, which can be obtained from certain divination cards and other sources in addition to their normal acquisition methods.

Mechanics

Main page: monster modifier

Upon killing a rare monster, the player gains all of its explicit monster modifiers for 60 seconds. This applies even if a Minion, Trap, Mine or Totem kills a rare monster; this is an exception to the usual definition of "you", likely due to the status of this unique item.

The above changes affect existing versions We have done a lot of work on reducing the memory usage of rare monster modifiers so that a greater variety can be present in each area. This means that the number of different mods that Headhunter items can steal is a lot higher than before.
3.18.0	Archnemesis modifiers have been rebalanced and added to the core game. Existing Magic and Rare monster modifiers have been replaced with Archnemesis modifiers. Bloodlines and Nemesis have been removed from the core game.
