Rogues are NPCs that work with the player during Heists and Grand Heists, introduced in the Heist league. Each Rogue has the ability to pass specific doors and obstacles and unlock reward chests related to the rogue's skill set. Additionally, each Rogue has a perk that can improve loot, provide discounted blueprint reveals, or provide combat buffs.

Overview

A door that requires Trap Disarmament to be unlocked, an ability that rogues can perform
Two large chests that require Demolition to be unlocked, an ability that rogues can perform

When starting a heist, the player must hire a Rogue with the appropriate skill and job level required to complete the Contract or Blueprint.

During a Heist, there are multiple passageways that may be blocked or guarded, as well as larger reward chests that are locked and will require the Rogue to open them. Some of them will require time to open them, indicated by a timer bar. If the Rogue is hit while performing the job, the progress meter will decrease. Rogues cannot be damaged and will not die in combat.

Successfully completing a Heist gives your Rogue experience points towards the job utilized. Each Rogue has a level cap for each job.

Each Rogue has a passive perk that are applied to the Heist, which are improved based on their highest level job. Rogues can also be given equipment split into four categories:

  1. Gear
  2. Tools
  3. Cloak
  4. Brooch

Each rogue will have a designated damage type, so the suitable Gear with the same damage type will boost their damage output. However, Rogues can equip Gear regardless of damage type, and will benefit from its explicit mods even if the implicit mod doesn't apply to their damage.

Unlocking Rogues

The player begins with three rogues: Tibbs, Karst, and Isla. The rest of the Rogues are acquired over time as an unlocked Rogue will introduce the player to a new rogue during a Heist. Players simply need to perform regular Heist Contracts and Rogues will unlock occasionally, on their own.

New rogues are introduced in the following sequence:

  • Isla does not introduce any new rogues.

Crafting

It is easy to craft the gear given above by purchasing base items with item level 83+ and then using the alch/scour method to get the roll you need. You can obtain upto 6 mods on an item using this technique.

Warning: You cannot craft Thief's Trinkets as they are corrupted and can only be obtained from Grand Heists.

Crafting steps:

  1. Visit Path of Exile Trade, and look for the item base (eg: Whisper-woven CloakWhisper-woven CloakRequires 5 in Any job5% reduced raising of Alert LevelCan only be equipped to Heist members.) with the item level 83 (under the Miscellaneous tab).
  2. Purchase the base, it should cost a few Chaos Orbs at most; Purchase at least 2-5 bases for crafting
  3. Use an Orb of ScouringOrb of ScouringStack Size: 30Removes all modifiers from an itemRight click this item then left click on a magic or rare item to apply it. to reset the mods on the item
  4. Use an Orb of AlchemyOrb of AlchemyStack Size: 20Upgrades a normal item to a rare itemRight click this item then left click a normal item to apply it. to craft the item
  5. If you don't get a good roll, repeat from step 3
  6. If you get a good roll, stop modifying that item and start crafting another
