An example of the inventory screen with various equipment and flasks currently in use.

Equipment refers to any items that can be placed into equipment slots on the character's inventory screen. These include weapons, armour and jewellery, but excludes flasks, trinkets, socketed skill gems and jewels, and any other equippable items that are introduced in a challenge league.

Weapons

Main page: Weapon

Weapons are equipment used to perform attacks or enhance spells. Each weapon has a base damage value range, attacks per second, and base critical strike chance. Quality improves the damage values of weapons.

Types of weapons:

Off-hands

Off-hand equipment is a sub-category of equipment that are equipped in the off-hand slot (right weapon slot), typically alongside other one-handed weapons, to provide offensive or defensive benefits through modifiers.

Armour

Armour is a category of equipment worn on different parts of the body to provide protection and bonuses from magical properties. Quality improves the amount of armour, evasion, and/or energy shield the item provides.

Jewellery

Main page: Jewellery

Jewellery does not implicitly provide protection like armour, but is useful for its supporting role and magical properties. Its quality can be improved with catalysts, which improve the affix values of specific types of modifiers.

Jewellery does not have gem sockets, unless they are given one by an implicit modifier.

Related items

Items that are placed in your flask slots or sockets are not considered equipment. Trinkets are also not considered equipment.
