Flasks are rechargable potions that grant temporary bonuses to your character. Using a flask consumes flask charges. When killing enemies, you will gain flask charges. Only the character landing the killing blow on an enemy will gain charges. The same is true for all +life and +mana gained "when you deal a killing blow" modifiers. Killing a Normal monster grants 1 charge, a Magic monster grants 3.5 charges, a Rare monster grants 6 charges, and a Unique monster grants 11 charges. Flasks have a +75% charge recovery bonus for each party member after the first.

Every character has space for five flasks. When you go to town, all your flasks are automatically fully recharged. If you equip a flask within a hostile area, the flask has zero active charges by default, and you have to kill enemies to gain charges for that flask.

Quality behaves differently on armour and flasks than on weapons. On armour and flasks, it stacks multiplicatively with other modifiers on that piece of equipment. Glassblower's Bauble is used to increase the quality of a flask.

Life Flasks

Restore Life. Each percentage of quality adds 1% Life Restored.

Vaal Pact is a keystone passive skill that grants doubled life leech speed and maximum life leech rate, but causes life regeneration to have no effect.

Mechanics

Interaction with Zealot's Oath

The Zealot's Oath keystone causes life regeneration to restore energy shield instead of life. Vaal Pact applies before Zealot's Oath however; so taking it along with Zealot's Oath will not grant the character any energy shield regeneration. This will not prevent energy shield from recharging as it normally does. Additionally, it does not prevent other sources of energy shield regeneration, such as Shavronne's RevelationShavronne's Revelation
