For the version of the Atlas tree used in Ruthless mode, see Atlas Passive Skill Tree (Ruthless).
The Atlas Passive Skill tree without any nodes allocated

The Atlas Passive Skill Tree is a passive skill tree specific to the Atlas of Worlds.

Progressing through maps allows the player to obtain passive skill points to allocate in the Atlas tree to enhance the rewards and fights of maps within the Atlas of Worlds.

The atlas tree has over 600 skill nodes to specialize in, including several Atlas keystones and Gateways, which allow you to traverse to the opposite side of the Atlas skill tree to a connected Gateway. Every Map on the Atlas you complete, as well as various endgame quests and encounters, will earn you an Atlas skill point.

Mechanics

Skills in the Atlas tree affect all non-unique maps on the Atlas, as well as Vaal Temple MapVaal Temple MapMap Level: 83

and Shaper Guardian maps, despite not being part of the Atlas. This does not include maps opened through Kirac's missions[1] and Atlas Memories.

Most Atlas Passives do not apply to special maps or map-like areas:

Obtaining passive skill points

You can earn an Atlas passive tree point for each map in the Atlas by obtaining a map completion bonus.

You gain a map completion bonus for the first time under the following conditions:

  • For a white map (tier 1 to 5), you must complete a map of magic rarity.
  • For a yellow map (tier 6 to 10), you must complete a map of rare rarity.
  • For a red map (tier 11 to 16), you must complete a map of rare rarity while it also has the corrupted modifier (for example by using a Vaal OrbVaal OrbStack Size: 20Corrupts an item, modifying it unpredictablyRight click this item then left click an item to corrupt it. Corrupted items cannot be modified again. on it).

It's currently possible to obtain up to 132 points:

You can check missing atlas passive points by using the '/atlaspassives' chat command.

Spending and refunding passive skill points

Immediately after receiving Atlas passive skill points, the player has the opportunity to spend those points in the skill tree. If the player leaves the points unassigned, they can be spent later from the Atlas of Worlds screen.

As with the character's normal passive skill tree, the player must spend refund points to remove previously-assigned passive skills. Earning refund points requires the use of an Orb of UnmakingOrb of UnmakingStack Size: 40Grants an atlas passive skill refund pointRight click on this item to use it., an item buyable from Kirac for 2 Orb of RegretOrb of RegretStack Size: 40Grants a passive skill refund pointRight click on this item to use it. each or randomly dropped during maps.

Once earned, these refund points can be used in any of the allocated atlas passive nodes. Refund points for the Atlas tree cannot be used to remove passive skills from the character's passive skill tree, and vice-versa.

Additional atlas trees

By progressing through the Atlas of Worlds and completing 50 and 100 bonus objectives, players can unlock two additional atlas trees, allowing quick changing of passives when opening a map without needing to respec points. Atlas respec points are shared between all atlas trees.

Passive nodes

There are several types of atlas passive skills.

Small passives

For a list of all small Atlas passive skills, see List of small atlas passive skills.

Small atlas passive skills grant minor bonuses related to atlas content.

Notable passives

For a list of all notable Atlas passive skills, see List of notable atlas passive skills.

Keystone passives

Main page: Atlas keystone

Keystone atlas passive skills significantly alter how certain atlas or league mechanics work.

Gateways

Gateways allow you to traverse to the opposite side of the Atlas to the other connected Gateway. Both gateways must have points allocated to them in order to traverse between then.

Trivia

The Atlas Passive Skill Tree was first introduced in a simpler form during the Echoes of the Atlas expansion, where it applied only to specific maps in a region. The rework in the Siege of the Atlas expansion merged these passives into a single, global passive tree.
