Petrified Blood is a spell that reservesmana to protect the character's lower half of their maximum life by causing a portion of the immediate life loss from hits to be lost over time instead. At higher skill levels, the amount of life loss over time is reduced, even though the percentage of immediate life loss prevented remains constant. As a drawback, the character cannot recover life above low life by any means except with flasks and Temporal RiftTemporal RiftSpell Level: (1-20) Reservation: 10% Mana Cooldown Time: 5.00 sec Can Store 1 Use(s) Cast Time: 0.25 secRequires Level 34Reserves mana to apply a buff and leave afterimages of your recent past. Cast the spell again to return to the oldest afterimage, teleporting to that location as well as resetting your Life, Mana and Energy Shield to the values they had then.(0-38)% increased Cooldown Recovery Rate Buff makes you Unaffected by Temporal Chains This Spell's Cast Speed cannot be modified
Additional Effects From 1-20% Quality: Buff causes Debuffs on you to expire (1-20)% fasterPlace into an item socket of the right colour to gain this skill. Right click to remove from a socket.. Skills also gain an additional life cost while the character is above low life.
"Life Recovery other than Flasks cannot Recover Life to above Low Life" can be interpreted as "Life Recovery other than Flasks cannot Recover Life above the Low Life threshold", meaning counting as on low life with e.g. Coward's LegacyCoward's Legacy Chain BeltRequires Level 52+(9-20) to maximum Energy Shield+(15-20) to all Attributes (5-10)% increased Movement Speed 50% increased Effect of Curses on you You count as on Low Life while you are Cursed with Vulnerability You are Cursed with VulnerabilityDeath is your most important duty. Face it, or curse your bloodline for all eternity. will not allow you to fill your life to the normal maximum, as the threshold is unchanged.
Increasing your low life threshold with the You count as on Low Life while at 55% of maximum Life or belowLife Mastery passive will increase the amount of life you can recover up to without flasks, but not the amount of damage Petrified Blood can mitigate. Petrified Blood will only protect you against damage that takes you below half life.
Petrified Blood does not interact with resources lost before life, such as energy shield or mana.
Petrified Blood reduces the maximum damage you can take from a single hit without dying. With PB active, a hit needs to deal 83.33% of your maximum life to oneshot you at 50% life.
You cannot directly mitigate the life loss over time from Petrified Blood in any way, not even from sources of damage immunity like a Divine Shrine.
Life leech will attempt to recover life past the low life threshold. Since leech only ends when you are at maximum unreserved life, this effectively gives you an "overleech" effect like Brutal Fervour, as long as you have more unreserved life than your low life threshold.
In the same vein, The Agnostic will continuously drain your mana to recover life, since it can never recover your life to full.
Options - Petrified Blood can be used with different options. For example it can be used while on full life with no life reserved. This allows for characters to be able to survive more damage from one single hit (or multiple hits). Life flasks are the only way to gain life above low life when using Petrified Blood. Other life gain sources will continue to work if temporarily dropping into low life.
Master Surgeon lets the Pathfinder Ascendancy class make use of Petrified Blood while keeping themselves above low life most of the time. Any damage taken that exceeds the low life threshold is reduced, increasing the amount of damage it takes to get oneshot by an attack.
Petrified Blood will not interfere with Cast When Damage Taken setups.[1]
