Armourer's Scrap is a currency item that can be used to improve the quality of a piece of armour.

Mechanics

Armourer's Scraps are used to increase the quality of armour equipment, up to 20%. The amount of quality an Armourer's Scrap adds to the item is based on the item level for non-unique armour, or 1% of it's a unique. See this table for the amount of quality added.

Each quality grants 1% more defence value of the armour, which is multiplicative with any local defence modifiers on the item.

Armourer's Scraps can also be obtained with the following vendor recipes.

Armourer's Scraps may also be obtained from slain enemies, an Artisan's Strongbox, any rewards that grant armour, etc.

Armourer's Scrap was previously known as "armour shard".

The rarity of the item is no longer relevant when applying Cartographer's Chisels, Blacksmith's Whetstones, Armourer's Scraps, Glassblower's Baubles, and Catalysts to non-Unique items. Instead, the amount of Quality they provide is now based on the item level. These currencies now apply 20% Quality to very low-level equipment, with this amount reducing as the item level increases.
