Lore

"

You have heard of the famed Perandus family, I have no doubt. Wealthy and powerful and responsible for putting Malachai in position to bring Wraeclast to ruin all those centuries ago. Though Emperor Chitus is the most famous of the Perandus family, some remnants of his vile bloodline linger even still.

Janus was one such remnant. He too was orphaned, but with the Perandus coffers dry and the Perandus name worth its weight in gold, no one took him in. No one except my akhara.

That he is the only other survivor, and is now a powerful member of the Immortal Syndicate leaves no doubt in my mind that it was he who sold us out.

If there is but one silver lining in all of this, it is that I may get to sink my blades into his flesh over, and over, and over again.

"

- Jun "Janus Perandus" dialogue

"

At last, a chance to drive a sword through that Perandus skull.

"

- Jun

"

I'm going to kill you Janus... Just not yet.

"

- Jun (after the player allow Janus to escape)

Jun speculated that Janus is the traitor that sold the Order of the Djinn to the Immortal Syndicate, which the Syndicate murdered every single members of the order except Jun.

There is a chance that Janus' relatives, Cadiro Perandus, would appears in research safehouse , if Janus is a member of that wing. Unlike the appearance in the map, Cadiro would be caged.

Version history

Version Changes
3.14.0
  • Modifiers that are unveiled through Jun are now more powerful than before. Previously, when an item was unveiled, the veiled modifier added to the item would be equal to the highest tier modifier available on the Crafting Bench. Now, the modifier being unveiled no longer counts as a crafted modifier and will be stronger than any craftable veiled modifier.
3.9.0
  • Monster resistances throughout the game have been reviewed and made more consistent. In many cases this has resulted in more resistances on monsters.
3.6.0
  • Bosses which previously had 60% or 80% less effect of curses on them now have 33% or 66% less effect of curses on them respectively. This includes map bosses, Incursion architects, Betrayal targets, Breachlords, Shaper, Elder and others.
  • In 3.6.0, Jun is introduced in Highgate in Act 9.[1] Thus, Tora now can be encountered from Act 9 onwards only.
  • Several veiled modifiers now have fewer tiers. Low tiers contribute more towards unlocking higher tiers, however it will, on average, take more unveils to unlock the highest tier.
3.5.0
  • Introduced to the game.
