For the upgrade system introduced in Prophecy league, see Fated item upgrade process.

Fated items are a subset of uniques that were previously upgraded versions of existing unique items via fated Unique Prophecies. Several fated Uniques were removed from the game or merged into their base unique with the removal of Prophecy in version 3.17.0. The remaining fated Uniques are now available by dropping randomly from map bosses or from rewards specifying "Fated Unique Items".
