Template:SMW rework needed Avoidance is a mechanic that stops the damage of a hit after block has failed. It still counts as a hit, even if it deals 0 damage.[1] Avoidance should not be confused or conflated with Evasion, Dodge, Block, or Immunity.

Leo has a number of mods that grant X% chance to Avoid stun, ignite, chill, freeze, shock, or being knocked back.

Essences

Anguish, Suffering, and Torment essences grant X% chance to Avoid Fire/Cold/Lightning Damage when Hit when applied to body armour and shields, and X% chance to Avoid being Ignited/Frozen/Shocked when applied to helmets, boots, and belts. Scorn essences grant X% chance to Avoid being Stunned when applied to helmets or gloves.
