Legacy variants
The body armour does not have an implicit so that it does not have a legacy variant. Pre-version 3.16.0 will have 171 Energy Shield the lowest value, but it can (1/27 chance) happen on current droppable base. However, in the permanent leagues, it may have Vaal Regalia that have the legacy ES mods, which the current T2 #% increased Energy ShieldUnassailableUnassailable Prefix (92-100)% increased Energy Shield, the legacy value was (121-132)%, which is even higher than the roll of current T1 mod UnfalteringUnfaltering Prefix (101-110)% increased Energy Shield. Legacy mod value can also be found on T1 +# to maximum Energy ShieldResplendentResplendent Prefix +(91-100) to maximum Energy Shield (+(136-145)) and other mods.
The item can be further crafted as quasi-legacy variant by adding 30% quality from now removed Betrayal crafting bench, so that until the intro of new base Twilight Regalia, Vaal Regalia with certain combination of legacy mods would be the body armour with highest ES value.
Base Types are now generated with a random 0-15% (on average) higher base defence, as an inbuilt property. This means that all base types can be better than they currently are, and armour base types are not homogeneous any more.
Energy Shield provided by base types has been increased by 5% on average, and can now be an additional 15% higher than this on average, as part of a variable base type system detailed below.
The energy shield from Vaal Regalia has changed to 171-197 (up from 163). (the exact defence value is not documented, but the rationale is documented in the patch notes.)
Energy Shield as a defensive mechanic has undergone a review and, generally speaking, all sources of Energy Shield on items have been reduced by approximately 20%.
All local Energy Shield modifiers on items, as well as the base Energy Shield of items, have been reduced at higher levels. Very low-level items will see a slight increase or no change, scaling up to a 33% reduction at the highest tier of modifiers.
The defences granted by all body armour has been increased at higher levels by 20%.

As part of the process of entering Open Beta, we have wiped all characters and reverted them to level 1 so that their names are retained. All items have been destroyed apart from the Unique prize item "Demigod's PresenceDemigod's PresenceAmulet Skin" and Kiwi pets.
The attribute requirements for armour pieces and gems have been increased.
There are few new changes to the base types of items. The item progression was adjusted for Act 3 and the reduction to three difficulties, but these changes have been on closed beta for some time already.[1]
