Bladefall is a physicalspell that causes ethereal blades to rain from the sky, dealing damage to enemies in a sequence of volleys, each wider but less damaging than the last. Enemies can be hit multiple times where these overlap.
Waves: Casting the spell summons five cascading waves of blades, with each wave dealing damage once, and each falling one wave's width further than the last (there is no space in between waves where damage is not dealt). Enemies can be knocked back by this skill or others, allowing for the possibility of multiple hits. The first wave of the spell will always fall where the player points the cursor on cast.
Each volley adds 0.6m width from the previous volley.[1]
Lingering Blades: Each wave of Bladefall leaves behind a Lingering Blade on the ground. Area of effect: Increases and reductions to area of effect apply to the area of each volley and their spacing. Increasing area of effect will increase total coverage but potentially lower overlap on one enemy. Reducing area of effect can increase DPS due to the constant size of enemy hitboxes.

Now has 20% reduced critical strike chance per volley, as well as 6% less damage per volley. Previously there was no penalty per volley to critical strike chance.

Bladefall's area of effect was wider than intended close to the caster. The area of effect now better matches the area the blades visually land. The total width of Bladefall's area of effect has been increased slightly to compensate for the now-narrower early stages.
The trap/mine behaviour of Bladefall has been made more consistent with other traps/mines. The blades fall from the mine itself, not targeting the location where the monster is. (They will fall in the direction of the monster though).

Bladefall had a bug that caused its damage per volley reduction to apply too early, reducing the damage of the first four stages. This has been fixed, which has raised its damage. To compensate, Bladefall's damage has been reduced by 25% at all levels. Bladefall now does 6% less damage per stage (up from 5%). Its damage effectiveness has been reduced from 120% to 90%.
