Vaal areas

Name Area Boss Abilities
Abandoned Dam Quetzerxi
  • Holy Flame Totem: Summons a totem that fires a stream of flame at nearby enemies.
Ancient Catacomb Commander of Flesh
  • Wild Strike: Your melee weapon strikes enemies, converting physical damage to a random element. Then, depending on the element chosen, it releases a fiery explosion, an arcing bolt of lightning, or an icy wave. It will avoid choosing the same element twice in a row.
Arcane Chambers Beheader Ataguchu
  • Cyclone: Damage enemies around you, then perform a spinning series of attacks as you travel to a target location. Cannot be supported by Ruthless or Multistrike.
Blind Alley M'gaska, the Living Pyre
  • Flameblast: Channels to build up a large explosion. The longer you channel, the larger the area of effect and damage of the explosion. The explosion occurs after using another skill or after a short period without casting.
Clouded Ridge Konu, Maker of Wind
  • Leap Slam: Jump through the air, damaging and knocking back enemies with your weapon where you land. Enemies you would land on are pushed out of the way. Requires an Axe, Mace, Sceptre, Sword or Staff. Cannot be supported by Multistrike.
  • Molten Shell: Summons fiery elemental shields providing additional armour for a short duration. If cumulative physical damage prevented by your blocking or armour reaches a threshold, the shields explode outwards, dealing fire damage to surrounding enemies.
Concealed Caldarium Cava, Artist of Pain
  • Lightning Strike: Infuses your melee weapon with electrical energies as you swing. In addition to converting some of your physical damage to lightning damage, the stored energy is released from the weapon as projectiles as you strike, flying out to hit farther-away enemies. The projectiles cannot miss if the melee attack hit a target.
Concealed Cavity The All-seeing Eye
  • Arc: An arc of lightning reaches from the caster to a targeted enemy and chains to other enemies, but not immediately back. Each time the arc chains, it will also chain a secondary arc to another enemy that the main arc has not already hit, which cannot chain further.
  • Conductivity: Curses all targets in an area, lowering their lightning resistance and giving them a chance to be shocked when hit.
Covered-up Hollow Cintiq, the Inescapable
  • Ethereal Knives: Fires an arc of knives outwards in front of the caster which deal physical damage.
  • Flicker Strike: Teleports the character to a nearby monster and attacks with a melee weapon. If no specific monster is targeted, one is picked at random. Grants a buff that increases movement speed for a duration. The cooldown can be bypassed by expending a Frenzy Charge.
  • Viper Strike: Hits enemies, converting some of your physical damage to chaos damage and inflicting poison which will be affected by modifiers to skill duration. If dual wielding, will strike with both weapons. Requires a claw, dagger or sword.

  • Glacial Cascade: Icicles emerge from the ground in a series of small bursts, each damaging enemies caught in the area.

  • Fire Trap: Throws a trap that explodes when triggered, dealing fire damage to surrounding enemies and leaving an area of burning ground that damages enemies who walk through it.
  • Fireball: Unleashes a ball of fire towards a target which explodes, damaging nearby foes.

  • Fireball: Unleashes a ball of fire towards a target which explodes, damaging nearby foes.
Forbidden Archives Exartze, the Woven Stone
  • Glacial Cascade: Icicles emerge from the ground in a series of small bursts, each damaging enemies caught in the area.
Forbidden Chamber Haviri, Vaal Metalsmith
  • Creeping Frost: Fire an icy projectile that bursts on impact or when reaching the targeted area, dealing area damage and creating a chilling area that deals cold damage over time. This area will creep across the ground towards nearby enemies until its duration expires.
  • Ethereal Knives: Fires an arc of knives outwards in front of the caster which deal physical damage.
  • Fireball: Unleashes a ball of fire towards a target which explodes, damaging nearby foes.
  • Firestorm: Flaming bolts rain down over the targeted area. They explode when landing, dealing damage to nearby enemies.
  • Freezing Pulse: An icy projectile which has a chance to freeze enemies it passes through. The projectile fades quickly, reducing damage and freezing chance until it dissipates.

  • Shock Nova: Casts a shocking ring of lightning which deals damage to monsters it touches. Monsters in the centre of the ring receive no damage.

  • Storm Call: Sets a marker at a location. After a short duration, lightning strikes the marker, dealing damage around it and causing lightning strikes at any other markers you've cast.
Forgotten Oubliette Coniraya, Shadow of Malice
  • Puncture: Punctures enemies, causing a bleeding debuff, which will be affected by modifiers to skill duration. Puncture works with bows, daggers, claws or swords.
  • Rain of Arrows: Fires a large number of arrows into the air, to land at the target after a short delay.
Frozen Springs Beheader Ataguchu
  • Cyclone: Damage enemies around you, then perform a spinning series of attacks as you travel to a target location. Cannot be supported by Ruthless or Multistrike.
Haunted Mineshaft Calxipher
  • Flame Dash: Teleport to a location, damaging enemies and leaving a trail of burning ground. Shares a cooldown with other Blink skills.

  • Rolling Magma: Lob a fiery orb that deals area damage as it hits the ground. The skill chains, bouncing forward to deal damage multiple times.

  • Ball Lightning: Fires a slow-moving projectile that damages each enemy in an area around it repeatedly with bolts of lightning.
Neglected Cellar Rima, Deep Temptress
  • Detonate Mines: Detonates a Mine, starting a Detonation Sequence which will detonate other Mines around it.
  • Firestorm: Flaming bolts rain down over the targeted area. They explode when landing, dealing damage to nearby enemies.
  • Freeze Mine: Lays a remote mine that you can detonate to freeze all enemies in the area.
  • Freezing Pulse: An icy projectile which has a chance to freeze enemies it passes through. The projectile fades quickly, reducing damage and freezing chance until it dissipates.
  • Frostbite: Curses all targets in an area, lowering their cold resistance and giving them a chance to be frozen when hit.

Quarantined Quarters The Sunburst Queen
  • Fire Nova Mine: Lay a remote mine that you can detonate to create a series of fire novas. Each sequential nova from the same mine will do higher damage than the previous.
Reclaimed Barracks Huitepa the Blind
  • Ball Lightning: Fires a slow-moving projectile that damages each enemy in an area around it repeatedly with bolts of lightning.
  • Earthquake: Smashes the ground, dealing damage in an area and cracking the earth. The crack will erupt in a powerful aftershock after a duration. Cracks created before the first one has erupted will not generate their own aftershocks. Requires an Axe, Mace, Sceptre, Staff or Unarmed.
  • Sunder: Slams the ground with a Mace, Sceptre, Axe or Staff, creating a wave of broken ground that damages enemies in an area in front of you. Enemies hit by the wave will release a circular shockwave, dealing damage to other enemies around them.
Remote Gulch Sheaq, Maker of Floods
  • Fireball: Unleashes a ball of fire towards a target which explodes, damaging nearby foes.
  • Shock Nova: Casts a shocking ring of lightning which deals damage to monsters it touches. Monsters in the centre of the ring receive no damage.
  • Spark: Launches unpredictable sparks that move randomly until they hit an enemy or expire.
Restricted Gallery Ch'aska, Maker of Rain
  • Firestorm: Flaming bolts rain down over the targeted area. They explode when landing, dealing damage to nearby enemies.
  • Rain of Arrows: Fires a large number of arrows into the air, to land at the target after a short delay.
Sacred Chambers Shadow of Vengeance
  • Spectral Throw: Throws a spectral copy of your melee weapon. It flies out and then returns to you, in a spinning attack that damages enemies in its path.
Sealed Basement Guraq, Daylight's Blade
  • Holy Flame Totem: Summons a totem that fires a stream of flame at nearby enemies.
  • Spectral Throw: Throws a spectral copy of your melee weapon. It flies out and then returns to you, in a spinning attack that damages enemies in its path.
  • Vaal Spectral Throw: Throws a spectral copy of your melee weapon. It spirals out in a spinning attack that strikes enemies in its path.
Sealed Corridors Wiraq, the Impaler
  • Dual Strike: Attacks with both weapons, dealing the damage of both in one strike. Dual wield only. Does not work with wands.
Secluded Canal Xuatl, Cutting Wind
  • Barrage: After a short preparation time, you fire individual projectiles repeatedly with a Bow or Wand. These projectiles have a small randomised spread. This skill cannot be Triggered.
  • Ice Spear: Launches shards of ice in rapid succession. After travelling a short distance they change to a second form, which moves much faster and pierces through enemies.
  • Split Arrow: Fires multiple arrows at different targets.
Secluded Copse Kutec, Vaal Fleshsmith
  • Desecrate: Desecrates the ground, summoning corpses and dealing chaos damage to all enemies in the area. The corpses will be chosen from the monsters in the current area and any Spectres that have existed in this instance.
  • Flesh Offering: Consumes a corpse, which temporarily empowers your minions with swiftness. The skill consumes other nearby corpses, increasing the duration for each corpse consumed.
  • Punishment: Curses all targets in an area, causing them to be debilitated when they hit enemies and increasing damage they take while on low life.
  • Raise Zombie: Raises a zombie minion from a corpse, which will follow you and attack enemies with a melee strike.
Secret Laboratory Atziri's Pride
  • Arctic Armour: Conjures an icy barrier that chills enemies when they hit you. You drop chilled ground while moving, and take less Fire and Physical damage while stationary.
  • Lightning Warp: Waits for a duration before teleporting to a targeted destination, with the duration based on the distance and your movement speed. When the teleport occurs, lightning damage is dealt to the area around both where the player was and where they teleported to. Casting again will queue up multiple teleportations to occur in sequence.
  • Righteous Fire: Engulfs you in magical fire that rapidly burns you and nearby enemies. Your spell damage is substantially increased while under this effect. The effect ends when you have 1 life remaining.
Shifting Sands Wiraq, the Impaler
  • Dual Strike: Attacks with both weapons, dealing the damage of both in one strike. Dual wield only. Does not work with wands.
Stagnant Canal Wiraqucha, Ancient Guardian
  • Puncture: Punctures enemies, causing a bleeding debuff, which will be affected by modifiers to skill duration. Puncture works with bows, daggers, claws or swords.
  • Smoke Mine: Throws a mine that will teleport you to it when detonated. It covers both your escape and arrival with a cloud of smoke that blinds enemies, and gives you a temporary buff to movement speed. Shares a cooldown with other Blink skills.

  • Spectral Throw: Throws a spectral copy of your melee weapon. It flies out and then returns to you, in a spinning attack that damages enemies in its path.
