Glacial Cascade is a cold spell that launches a wave of icicles. Damage from this skill converts physical damage to cold damage.

Skill functions and interactions

Area of Effect: Glacial Cascade fires as a set of multiple area of effect circles in a line, which the skill calls bursts. Increasing the Area of Effect increases the size of each burst, but the distance between the center of each burst and the effective range don't change. Instead, larger bursts overlap with each other more. This can allow you to hit an enemy several times with a single cast much more reliably.

Number of Hits: Glacial Cascade can hit an enemy a variable number of times, based on its location and the increased area of effect of the glacial cascade. An enemy can be hit twice if it is near the central line of the skill where the bursts overlap. This becomes increasingly likely if the skill has increased area of effect or the enemy has a large hitbox. An enemy that is very close to the caster or at full range will only be hit once, regardless of increases to area of effect, because they are only over the area of effect of the nearest or furthest burst. In unusual circumstances with high amounts (over 150%) of increased area of effect, an enemy can be hit by three bursts from the same spell.
