Minions are allied monsters summoned by the player. Minions have their own damage and their actions are treated completely separate from the summoner's. Zombies, Animate Guardian, Animate Weapons, Skeletons and Stone Golems deal physical damage, Spectres and Dominated deal whatever damage they did before they died, Raging Spirits deal physical damage of which 50% is converted to fire (much like Infernal Blow), and the four other Golems do damage in accordance with their names (chaos, fire, cold, lightning). Minion damage is affected by Minion Damage passive skills, some unique items, support gems linked to the minion skill gem, auras and Necromantic Aegis. Of particular note, support gems will support the attacks and spells of the minion if the skill is relevant. Minions can critically strike but cannot proc Module Error: No skills found with q_where = skill.active_skill_name="Cast On Critical Strike". Unlike totems, minions can gain charges.

Neither passive skills nor stats from the player's equipment affect minions unless they specifically state "Minions _____".

Life flasks with the "of Animation" suffix will heal minions life by 40-60% of the flasks recovery. This effect works even when the player has full life or Chaos Inoculation. If player have equiped Umbilicus ImmortalisUmbilicus Immortalis

- flasks effects applies to his spectres and zombies.

When a minion kills an enemy, the player is partially rewarded with the kill. This means:

  • The player gains flask charges
  • The player's IIQ and IIR is added to the minion's support gems values to calculate drops.

Totems, Traps and Remote Mines are not counted as minions, they are remote skills.

Minion Targeting

Although minions can't be commanded directly, they can be directed by user actions to attack targets. Attacking an enemy with a skill will force minions to prioritize that target.

This is useful because minions tend to be passive otherwise and attack targets nearby, or even move with the player.

Minion skill gems

These skills from skill gems create minions. Monsters converted using Conversion Trap do not count as minions and are not affected by minion passives.

Support gems

There are a number of support gems related to minions, that increase their damage output, defense or movement speed. Please note that other support gems depending on the skills and type of minion will also work (i.e. Module Error: No skills found with q_where = skill.active_skill_name="Melee Physical Damage" for minions that attack with melee skills) - refer to the minion skill gem pages for more information. But support gems with the "minion" gemtag are the only way to support - for example, the zombies revived by Reanimator (when the player chooses him as a spectre). Template:SMW item table/skill gems
