Dying Exile is an NPC found in The Twilight Strand (Act 1). Dying Exile is the first NPC encountered in Path of Exile.
Mechanics
Dying Exile is encountered only in the starting area of The Twilight Strand (Act 1), lying on a log. If their dialogue is triggered or after a certain duration, they will be interrupted before they have finished by the Hungry Corpse monster next to them reanimating and killing them. The Dying Exile cannot be saved. Hungry Corpse is guaranteed to drop a class-dependant gem. For the list, see Hungry Corpse#Guaranteed gem drop.
