Overview
Elementalists deal in all things elemental. A powerful caster-summoner hybrid, they have access to conditional but powerful element damage bonuses, some granted periodically or with a skill requirement. They can also specialize in elemental ailments, elemental Herald skills, and golems. Some passive skills can be mixed and matched to accommodate multiple damage types, even physical and chaos. The Elementalist is the strongest of the classes at enhancing direct-damage spells to their maximum, and rapidly applying elemental damage to a target the very instant they see it. They also get VERY powerful Golems and very powerful buffs from them; while the buff from multiple Golems of the same type does not stack the Elementalist has two very powerful passives that greatly enhance the effect of the buff for every Golem out, as well as increasing the maximum number allowed.

* There are Golems of all three gem colors, needing all three baseline stats to get to strong levels, and all three have useful buffs. While you won't have any problems with Blue ones, focusing in both other colors and therefore needing high levels in both Strength (for Red) and Dexterity (for Green) to get the Golems to high levels is a risky, unfocused spread of your passive points. It is more effective to heavily focus in just one; of the two, Strength for Red skills is generally considered more useful for an Elementalist for both the sizeable damage boost from a Fire Golem (which also affects spell damage) and the Spell Totem Support and Multiple Totems Support gems for your Totem turrets.

Dexterity on the other hand lets you boost the Ice Golem where only half of its buff helps (Combat spells do not depend on Accuracy which also nullifies the Accuracy boost from Dexterity points, so only the Critical Strike Chance will help), a couple of the support gems that boost projectile counts and don't need to be a very high level to be useful, the natural boost to Evasion to help avoid physical attacks (which is less effective than the damage drop from Strength-based Armour) and not much else.
*If you have the "baseline" 4 golems available from Liege of the Primordial, Elemancer, and Golem Commander (plus its two prerequisite Golem Life and Buff Effect) passives, the Golem buffs will be at 370% effectiveness.
* Given the very sizeable number of active attack, Golem summon and buff skills you will end up using, don't forget about the 5 hidden skill hotkeys; the Q W E R T hotkeys have a second hidden set that is accessible while holding down the CTRL key by default, letting you set and quickly use 5 more skills. You will need them.

*The Herald skills that give a flat damage to spells, such as Herald of Ice or Herald of Thunder, have their damage boosts also affected by a summoned Fire Golem which means you can effectively get a double-buff from the Golem with the herald active, both from its raw damage boost to everything and the increased effect of the Herald which also boosts the damage of everything of the corresponding element.
*If you get the Liege of the Primordial passive your Golems become immune to the self-burning effect of Infernal Legion Support, allowing them to become permanent walking firestorms.
*Getting Zealot's Oath does successfully switch the Stone Golem's powerful life regeneration buff into a constant Energy Shield regeneration buff of equal strength. This, combined with all Golem-specific passives and the correct choice of equipment can make an Elementalist one of the very few classes that can successfully use the Chaos Inoculation passive without becoming too fragile.

Elementalist
Feed a storm with savage intent and not even the strongest walls will hold it back.
This page is about the Ascendancy class. For the passive skill, see Elementalist (passive skill). For the Ascendant passive skill, see Elementalist (Ascendant passive).

The Elementalist is an Ascendancy class for Witches.

Overview

Elementalists deal in all things elemental. They can enhance the power of elemental ailments to be more powerful, even against bosses, and make them compatible with other damage types. They also have access to Mastermind of Discord to make elemental Exposure more powerful, Heart of Destruction to gain powerful conditional offensive bonuses, and Bastion of Elements to ward off against elemental damage. Finally, Elementalists have access to golem-related skills, which not only enhance their survivability, but also give bigger enhancements to your own character the more golems you have active.
