Shaper of Flames is a notable Ascendancy passive skill for the Elementalist. It causes your hits to always inflict ignite and causes all damage types to scale ignite damage. It also causes ignited enemies to convert a portion of the physical damage they deal to fire damage.

Mechanics

Enemies Ignited by you Convert 40% of their Physical Damage to Fire: This modifier is not the same as damage taken as modifiers. Instead, it directly converts enemies' physical damage to fire damage, stacking with any conversion inherent to the monster or its skills. This has the added benefit of lowering physical damage dealt in a hit, making armour more effective, and reducing the damage that contributes to Bleeding and Poison. However, this also allows monsters to ignite with the new fire damage on crit.

Shaper of Flames in Ruthless mode does not grant the ability to always ignite, requiring investment into ignite chance. It also converts less physical damage on ignited enemies.
