Before they're given their first Long Bow, aspiring archers on Oriath are taught the art of the Arrow Rain. When the student is ready to be tested, he is taken out to the marshes, and commanded to fire a salvo at a flock of geese. The aspirant must bring down at least a dozen birds with one barrage, or it's back for another year of training and discipline.

Naturally, the Rain of Arrows technique is often used to devastating effect on the field of battle. A skilled archer fires a single enchanted missile aloft, and when it descends, it multiplies to carpet an entire area in a lethal shower. Be wary if you ever behold an enemy archer pointing their bow skyward.

Rain of Arrows is a ranged attack skill that fires a number of arrows in the air, dealing area of effect damage after a short delay.

Skill functions and interactions

  • Delay: Rain of Arrows will impact after a delay equal to the attack time, so the first attack will land as the second is being launched. Projectile Speed modifiers affect the delay.
  • Projectile damage: Although Rain of Arrows does not fire projectiles (and therefore cannot by modified by supports such as Module Error: No skills found with q_where = skill.active_skill_name="Chain" and Module Error: No skills found with q_where = skill.active_skill_name="Lesser Multiple Projectiles"), like any Bow skill it does deal projectile damage and will be affected by any appropriate damage modifiers such as Module Error: No skills found with q_where = skill.active_skill_name="Physical Projectile Attack Damage" and the Module Error: No skills found with q_where = skill.active_skill_name="Point Blank" support gem/keystone passive. In the case of the latter, target location is irrelevant to damage scaling by distance; distant enemies hit by the same area of effect will take less damage than enemies near the location of the attacker.

    Rain of Arrows cannot be supported by Module Error: No skills found with q_where = skill.active_skill_name="Pierce Support", as it does not have the projectile tag. It can however recieve the benefit of the 50% increased projectile damage from drillneck, as it has the "Bow" tag, which implies projectile. The pierce to activate the Drillneck must be acquired from sources other than the support gem, such as the passive tree, or items such as VoidwalkerVoidwalker
