Affliction league is the current challenge league. It launched on December 8, 2023 as part of Path of Exile: Affliction in version 3.23.0.

League mechanic

Players explore the Viridian Wildwood and use the power of sacred wisps to burn away and discover the secrets of the Affliction shrouding the forest in darkness. Train alongside powerful Azmeri and unlock the power of Wildwood ascendancy classes.

Freeing wisps trapped in the Wildwood will cause them to escape into the overworld, empowering monsters and improving their rewards.

Ladders

In Affliction league, players can choose to enable any of these optional game modes:

• Hardcore (HC)
• Solo Self-Found (SSF)
• Ruthless (R)

This means that there are eight distinct ladders for Affliction league:

• SSF Affliction league
• HC SSF Affliction league
• R Affliction league
• HC R Affliction league
• SSF R Affliction league

New items

Base items

Charms and Tinctures are exclusive new items of this leagues. At the end of the leagues they are deleted from the game and not migrated to the permanent leagues.

The leagues also introduced corpse item, which also exclusive to this leagues. They are not obtainable from NPC or world drop after the end of the leagues, but existing items could still be traded among players.
