Obsidian Key is a quest item. It is a quest reward of 
Web of Secrets.
The key is used to open a secret passage from The Chamber of Sins Level 2 (Act 7) to The Den (Act 7) (which led to The Ashen Fields and The Fortress Encampment). The quest log of 
The Master of a Million Faces also reminded the player, regarding the use of this quest item.
Despite the area instance of the Chamber of Sins Level 2 is always randomly generated , the location of the secret passage is always located in the subarea that the player character encountered Helena, Piety and Fidelitas, the Mourning.

Obsidian Key can drop anywhere.
