Masters are five special NPCs that randomly spawn in Wraeclast and offer the player missions. Each master offers unique mechanics and rewards to reap. In exchange for completing these missions, players can unlock crafting recipes on the crafting bench and gain Favour to buy decorations for their hideout.
Each day five new master missions will be presented on the Atlas after the reset at 5pm MST (GMT-7) based on the player's last completed map tier with a range of +1/-1 tier. Masters have a spawn rate of 40% with 8% of each master having a chance to spawn in a given map.

Masters must be encountered in the wild before they start appearing in various towns in Wraeclast.

Missions
Masters can be encountered in most zones, where they will offer a mission. Zana can only be encountered in Maps.
Atlas Mission
Each time you complete a map, there is a chance to receive an Atlas Mission for a random master. You can use Atlas Missions to guarantee a master to spawn in your next non-unique map. Your Atlas Mission counters are tracked for each set of map tier colors: white, yellow, and red; which one you receive is the same as the tier color of the map you received it in. You must speak to a master to redeem an Atlas Mission.
Once per day, when you log in, you will receive one Atlas missions for each master for the tier relative to the last map you've completed. Free Atlas missions refresh at midnight UTC.
Favour
Successfully completing missions for Masters grants Favour. Favour is used to purchase hideout decorations.
Each master has a Favour level, which goes up to 7. Favour level increases based on the specified mission objectives completed. Each Favour level unlocks new decorations to purchase.
Crafting
Using the crafting bench in your hideout, you can add a master crafted mod into an item. Crafting recipes are unlocked as you play the game and complete missions for masters. Unlocked recipes are retained account-wide.
Adding crafted mods
The crafting bench offers a list of mods that can be crafted onto items of certain types for a cost. Usually, only one crafted mod may be added to an item; the crafted mod is shown in a brighter color than normal mods. Crafting a mod follows the normal affix rules. Specifically:
- The item cannot already have a mod of that type.
- The item must have a prefix or suffix slot open as appropriate. This means that a second prefix or suffix cannot be crafted onto a magic item, nor a fourth prefix or suffix onto a rare item.
Likewise, the existence of a crafted mod on an item prevents a mod of the same type from being added via an Exalted OrbExalted OrbStack Size: 20Augments a rare item with a new random modifierRight click this item then left click a rare item to apply it. Rare items can have up to six random modifiers..
Meta-crafting mods
Players can unlock crafting recipes to a special mod which doesn't grant stats or bonuses, but affects other mods and may override regular crafting rules.[1] These meta-crafting mods are treated as regular master crafted mods; they take up either a prefix or suffix spot but, like any other crafting mod, only one can be added at a time. This can be bypassed with the Can have multiple Crafted Mods mod.
Using an Orb of ScouringOrb of ScouringStack Size: 30Removes all modifiers from an itemRight click this item then left click on a magic or rare item to apply it. on an item with the "Prefixes/Suffixes Cannot be Changed" meta-crafting mod will not remove prefixes/suffixes.[2]
Removing crafted mods
Crafted mods may not be directly exchanged. They are removed if the item is randomly rerolled using an Orb of AlterationOrb of AlterationStack Size: 20Reforges a magic item with new random modifiersRight click this item then left click a magic item to apply it. or Chaos OrbChaos OrbStack Size: 20Reforges a rare item with new random modifiersRight click this item then left click a rare item to apply it., or when the crafted modifier is deleted through an Orb of ScouringOrb of ScouringStack Size: 30Removes all modifiers from an itemRight click this item then left click on a magic or rare item to apply it. or Orb of AnnulmentOrb of AnnulmentStack Size: 20Removes a random modifier from an itemRight click this item then left click on a magic or rare item to apply it.. Alternatively, they may be removed for the cost of one Orb of ScouringOrb of ScouringStack Size: 30Removes all modifiers from an itemRight click this item then left click on a magic or rare item to apply it. if you have the recipe.
This does not apply to mods protected by the "Prefixes/Suffixes Cannot be Changed" meta-crafting mods.
